Creative young people lead this programme from across Greenwich borough. It includes four events across 2026 and 2027. It celebrates creativity, culture, belonging and heritage, with activity for the whole community.

Are the events free?

The programme includes free public performances and affordable food options across the festival events. Ignite is committed to ensuring everyone has a place in our community, so it has been at the core of our design to create free events.

What is this project?

This is a youth-led cultural programme for Greenwich, shaped by young people to celebrate creativity, community, belonging and heritage. It includes four events over two years that span the whole borough.

Will the events be accessible?

Yes, accessibility is part of the planning, including a dedicated access area for disabled and neurodiverse guests at the Around The World Festival.

What kind of activities can people expect?

Visitors can expect live performance, workshops, food and music, creative making, Q&As, community activities and heritage-led content.

Is the Heritage Exhibition part of the festival programme?

The Heritage Exhibition is the special fourth event in the programme and will celebrate the digitisation of Greenwich’s archive and collections, marking a beautiful collaboration between young people and the past of the borough alongside Royal Greenwich Heritage Trust.

Do I need a ticket?


No, not at all; just turn up and enjoy yourself!  

Will there be food and drink?


At some events in the series, food is part of the experience, including free tasters, low-cost meal options and support from local food and drink businesses. 

Can families come?


Yes, families are welcome, and the Around The World Festival includes a children’s fun area with activities like a graffiti wall, basketball and carnival games. 

What can I expect at the events?


Expect live performances, music, workshops, creative activities, heritage storytelling, community making and opportunities to get involved.

Can I just turn up on the day?


Yes, absolutely. You’re welcome to come along on the day and join in, so there’s no need to worry if you haven’t planned too far ahead.

Is there an age restriction?


No, there isn’t an age restriction. The programme is designed to welcome a broad audience, with activities for different ages and interests across the four events.

Will there be toilets on site?


Yes, toilets will be available on site for visitors. We want everyone to feel comfortable and able to enjoy their time at the event.

Will there be seating available?


Yes, seating will be available. There will be places to pause, rest and take a break during the event.

Is there step-free access?


Yes, step-free access will be available. We’re working to make the event as accessible and welcoming as possible for everyone.

Will there be parking nearby?


There is limited parking available nearby, so we recommend using public transport where possible. This is usually the easiest way to get to the event.

What happens if it rains?


In most cases, the event will still go ahead if it rains. Please keep an eye on Royal Borough of Greenwich channels for the latest updates and any changes.

Yes, in most cases it will. If there are any weather-related changes, we’ll share updates through Royal Borough of Greenwich channels.

Can I leave and come back later?

Yes, no problem at all. You’re welcome to leave and return later if needed.

Yes, there will be security and stewards on site. We’re making sure the events feel safe, welcoming and well looked after for everyone.
